Celebrating International Volunteer Day 2025 with PMI Malaysia (07-Dec-2025)

Celebrating International Volunteer Day 2025 with PMI Malaysia brings a deep sense of pride and gratitude. It has been over seven years since I began volunteering with multiple PMI chapters, a dream that grew from my passion for giving back to the community.

Balancing critical responsibilities at work often makes it difficult to pursue the passions we hold close to our hearts. Yet, PMI has truly enabled and supported my desire to contribute, turning a long-standing dream into reality. It has never been easy—tight schedules, demanding roles, and personal commitments always pose challenges—but stepping out of my comfort zone has been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve made.

What began with PMI has now grown into a wider purpose. I am equally grateful for the opportunities to connect with young engineers, meet engineering students, and guide them in shaping their careers and aspirations. Empowering the next generation has been a meaningful part of my journey.

This vision of giving back has not only allowed me to support youth and communities but has also strengthened my own learning. It expanded my technical knowledge, deepened my experience, and inspired me to develop multiple theses and papers over the years.

As Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam beautifully said:
“I am not handsome, but I can give my hand to someone who needs help.”
Volunteering teaches us that learning fuels creativity, creativity inspires thinking, thinking builds knowledge, and knowledge elevates us to greatness.

To all young talents, I’d like to say:
“Dream, dream, dream. Dreams transform into thoughts, and thoughts result in action.”

I believe firmly in serving before leading. True education is about uplifting society, not only oneself. Leadership is service, and contribution is the highest form of success.

And in the world of work, remember this:
With 70% technical strength and 30% management capability, you can lead, inspire, and build an exceptional team that grows together which volunteering helps in developing yourself.

Happy International Volunteer Day 2025—a celebration of service, learning, and lifelong giving.
